SUBJECT OVERVIEW

The Windows to Construction course is a semester program that is designed for students wishing to explore a career in the building and construction industry. The focus is on providing hands on practical experience in a range of trade related areas. This course is intended for those who are interested in applying for Certificate II Doorways to Construction and other construction/trade VET courses as well as those interested in School Based Apprenticeships and full-time Apprenticeships. Students that undertake this course will complete Construction White Card training provided by an external VET provider which is partially funded.

  • Carpentry and timber framing
  • Plumbing
  • Plastering
  • Landscapes and gardening

ASSESSMENT

Students are assessed through formative and summative that cover the Design and Technology Australian Curriculum achievement standards within the following content descriptors:

  • Knowlegde & understanding - Materials and technologies specialisations
  • Processes & production skills including the following:
    • Investigating and defining
    • Generating and designing
    • Producing and implementing
    • Evaluating
    • Collaborating and managing

Cost: $30.
