SUBJECT OVERVIEW
This course has a ‘traditional’ materials focus working with solid timbers. Students design, produce and assemble a product that employs traditional design principles, production and assembly techniques. Students will focus on producing products that employ solid timber while further developing their skills in the safe use of selected portable tools and fixed machines. Students develop a design folio that includes investigation, planning, producing, and evaluating. Students will incorporate various materials and methods when fabricating their projects to help them develop important skills such as project management, understanding materials and process, communication and problem solving. Students will further develop Computer Aided Design (CAD) skills in this course.
