SUBJECT OVERVIEW

The theme of this semester is Forum Theatre which explores possible actions that students can take to transform their world through the medium of theatre. Students will be supported in communication techniques, experimentation, creativity and collaboration encouraging confidence for students to express themselves. Applying knowledge and understanding of the topics explored by participating in group production. Students will view practitioner’s intentions through analysis and evaluating live theatre.

Students use real world situations (i.e. bullying/racism/prejudice/corruption) to expose power and enact change in the community. They will produce and exhibit a performance in either an onstage or offstage role. All students will view a live professional theatrical production and complete a review that will explore the themes of the production and analyse and evaluate practitioner intentions.

Additional Information

Costs: $45 additional fee for live theatre performance.

Fees may change prior to January 2025 when invoices are sent.

It is compulsory for drama students to participate in all class performances, including outside of regular school hours performance. Dates will be given well in advance.
