SUBJECT OVERVIEW

Students will focus on advanced compositional and lighting techniques used in all digital media imagery, both static and dynamic. Students will learn how to use the manual settings of a DSLR camera and its creative output. They will refine their manipulation skills, working mostly with Adobe Creative Suite to create collages, videos, special effects, and persuasive digital media in response to critical analysis of media art works and artists. 

This course may lead to Stage 1 Creative Arts, Stage 1 Visual Art Art/Design or Stage 1 Media Studies.

  • Digital photography – manual DSLR concepts and techniques
  • Studio lighting
  • Continued development of digital media and impacts
  • Desktop publishing
  • Advanced digital imaging using Adobe Photoshop
  • Animation
  • Filmmaking and visual effects
  • Digital drawing
  • Investigation: media arts

Students are assessed against the Media Arts Australian Curriculum achievement standards:

  • Skills development and application
  • Research and inquiry
  • Folio of practice: skills abd application

Students will require:

  • USB storage device
  • students may need to purchase additional printing credit
