SUBJECT OVERVIEW

Design students will advance their skills in design through a choice of visual communications; graphic design and illustration and product design; architectural and interior/ fashion design.

Students will elaborate on the design process applying problem-solving, planning and invention to create projects. Using critical thinking, analysis and evaluating their own works as well as the work of fellow designers. The course will focus on the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign to create a highly refined finish to their design work. Students will also examine designers with a series of visual studies of designers and their work. 


This course may lead to Stage 1 Visual Art Art/ Design, Stage 1 Creative Arts.

ASSESSMENT

Students are assessed against the Visual Arts Australian Curriculum achievement standards:

  • Folio of development relating to design brief and process
  • Practical products
  • Visual study
  • Reflection and/or evaluation of others and own design practice

Students will require:

  • USB storage device
  • students may need to purchase additional printing
