09 Visual Art A

SUBJECT OVERVIEW

Students will continue to develop competency in the fundamentals of visual art. Students will also contribute to art studio practice by learning 2D skills, 3D techniques, including digital technologies involved in arts practice. Students will be supported in experimentation, creativity and confidence in expressing themselves using their knowledge and understanding. Students will be introduced to historical and contemporary artists analysing artworks and experiencing the techniques and qualities within the work that they can apply to their own practice. Students will also reflect and evaluate practitioner's work.

Topics may include

• Observational drawing
• Colour theory, painting techniques including digital technologies
• Perspective drawing including digital technologies
• Clay construction
• Visual study
• Collage as media in art, including digital technologies
• Reflection and evaluation
• Arts specific language and analysis
