Pre-Requisite: An achievement of 'C' or better in year 8 French, or by negotiation with the global learnings coordinator and French teacher.   An ability to independently pursue learning and dedication to the acquisition of the language is expected at this stage.

SUBJECT OVERVIEW

This course aims to increase students’ ability to communicate their thoughts, opinions, ideas and desires in French and to understand those of others in written and spoken forms. Emphasis is on the use of comprehensible, input rich, classroom experiences in which students are co-creators of meaning, and on sensitizing learners to the patterns of the language and the ways in which French is used in everyday communications.

ASSESSMENT

Students are assessed against the Australian Curriculum achievement standards for French via a variety of tasks that allow students to develop knowledge, skills and understanding through:
