SUBJECT OVERVIEW

Students will extend their understanding of dramatic concepts such as character, relationships, subtext and situation when performing for a range of purposes and audience. Students will explore the various technical and design roles in the theatre arts. Students will be supported in experimentation, creativity, collaboration, problem solving and confidence to express themselves, applying their knowledge and understanding of the topics explored. Students will explore social, cultural and historical perspectives and practitioner intentions by viewing, analysing and evaluating live theatre. They will also produce and evaluate their own performances and off stage products.

ASSESSMENT

Students are assessed against the Drama Australian Curriculum Achievement standards:

  • Elements of drama
  • Contribution to performance
  • Analysis
  • Interpretation and evaluation of drama

Additional Information

Costs: $45.00 for performance admissions 

Fees may change prior to January 2025 when invoices are sent.

It is compulsory for drama students to participate in all class performances, including outside of regular school hours performance. Dates will be given well in advance.
